Hand-woven and entirely singular, The Oti Necklace is a grounded celebration of West African heritage and raw, earthen texture. And a true one-of-a-kind

Part of the KAIÕKO ARTIFACTS collection the heart of this piece is a double strand of rare, vintage Ghanaian Bauxite beads. Hand-carved from natural mineral ore rich in iron oxide, these rustic, terracotta-toned beads carry a soft, matte finish and subtle natural variations—ranging from warm brick-red to muted ochre and dusty pink.

Anchored by large, statement vintage Ghanaian metal beads and finished with hand-knotted cordwork, this one-of-a-kind piece bridges ancient geological history with slow, intentional craft.

Material & Sizing

Linhasita waxed cord is a 100% waxed polyester thread manufactured in Brazil, widely celebrated by artisans for micro-macramé, jewellery making, and heavy-duty leatherworking. Known for its exceptional strength, tear resistance, and rich color fastness, the cord is coated in a special wax that gives it superior grip for holding complex knots without slipping. Its synthetic composition makes it water-repellent and durable against daily wear, while its heat-meltable ends allow for clean, seamless finishes using a thread burner or flame rather than glue.

Fully adjustable using a sliding knot this can be worn long or short or anywhere in-between!

Store Flat in a Breathable Pouch: Keep the piece in a soft cloth or cotton pouch. Avoid sealed plastic bags for long periods, as trapped ambient moisture can affect natural cordage and earth materials.
Keep Away from Humidity: Avoid storing it in high-moisture areas like bathrooms. Bauxite is a porous, earth-born mineral that thrives best in dry environments.
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Store in a cool, dark place or box. Prolonged UV exposure can dry out or weaken natural cordwork over time.
Keep Separate to Avoid Scratches: Because the vintage metal beads and raw stone can rub against each other or other pieces, give it its own space in your collection so the cord isn't caught or pulled.
